Major Russian Strikes Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
